Thank you for participating in peaksaver PLUS®. The program closed on December 31, 2017
After 10 successful years, the peaksaver PLUS® program ended on December 31, 2017. Together with more than 315,000 participating homes and businesses across the province, you have played an important part in protecting the environment while keeping Ontario’s electricity reliable.
When you first signed up, a thermostat or electronic switch was installed to temporarily reduce the electricity used by your air conditioner, electric water heater or pool pump, on the hottest summer days when electricity demand was highest. With significant changes in smart thermostat technology and the evolution in demand response programs, peaksaver PLUS® ended on December 31, 2017.
The peaksaver PLUS® load control switch installed on your electric water heater or pool pump will be disconnected remotely and will continue to operate normally.
The Honeywell programmable thermostat that was installed as part of the program is yours to keep so you can keep saving energy. Operational Guides are available below.
The online portal to manage your programmable thermostat remotely closed on December 31, 2017.
The In-Home-Display Energy Joule display will continue to be updated twice annually, November 1st and May 1st to align with time-of-use periods and rates. For more information, please find frequently asked questions for the Joule here.
Replacements, including parts, were available up until December 31, 2017.
